MAN Diesel & Turbo has concluded a long-term service agreement with the Brazilian energy group Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) for the maintenance, repair and operational support of 20 MAN THM gas turbine trains on four offshore platforms in the crude oil and natural gas exploration area off the north-east coast of Rio de Janeiro. The agreement spans five years and is the second extension of this service contract, which was originally signed in 2002. The value of the agreement is Euro 150 million.

Elliott Tri-Sen alliance

Elliott Group and Tri-Sen Systems (Houston, TX) have entered into a strategic alliance. Moving forward, Tri-Sen control systems will be the standard offering quoted with all Elliott compressors and turbines, in both new project and aftermarket applications. Elliott will offer other control products when appropriate to customer specifications or consistency with existing installations.

Voith Petrobras gear order

 

Voith has received a major order for the delivery of 60 variable-speed planetary gears type "Vorecon". The “Vorecons” will enter service in offshore production on the oil fields of the huge pre-salt cluster in the Atlantic approximately 300 km outside Rio de Janeiro. The operator is a consortium led by the Brazilian mineral oil group Petrobras. The total volume of the order is in the lower three-digit million Euro range.

Flexplant Siemens contract

Two months after the contract was signed with the private equity firm Panda Power Funds for the turnkey supply of a natural-gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Temple, Texas, Siemens has been awarded a second order by the same customer for an identical project in the city of Sherman. Siemens will supply the plant in consortium with its partner Bechtel. The order volume including a long-term service agreement is approximately USD300 million.
