Ferrostaal and Haldor Topsoe announce joint venture

Ferrostaal GmbH, a global project developer for industrial plants, and Haldor Topsoe A/S, a leader in catalysis and related process technologies, recently announced the establishment of a new joint venture, Ferrostaal Topsoe Projects GmbH. It is likely to be based in Essen, and will be owned with equal shares by the two companies. The joint venture is subject to approval from the regulatory authorities.

Petramina to build 250MW combined cycle plant in North Sumatra

State oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Medan-based state-owned plantation company, PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III, will build a steam- and gas- fueled power plant (PLTGU) with a capacity of 250MW in Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra, an official said recently.
Toshiba to supply steam turbine and generator for Allen combined cycle plant

Toshiba Corporation recently announced that it has received an order to supply a 472MW steam turbine and generator (STG) for the Allen combined cycle power plant being constructed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the power utility owned by the US government. The STG is scheduled to be delivered in October 2016, and the plant is expected to come on line in June 2018.

Capstone to deliver two C1000 microturbines to California brewery

Capstone Turbine recently received an order for two C1000 microturbines to upgrade a top Northern California brewery. Regatta Solutions, Capstone’s distributor in California, secured the order, which is expected to be commissioned later this year. The two microturbines will replace the aging natural gas fuel cells currently powering the brewery. The prime movers’ flexibility can meet the facility’s irregular daily load demands, helping to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
GE to deliver 2.6GW of gas-fired power across Egypt

GE has signed a contract with the Egyptian government to deliver 2.6 GW of power generation capacity, the company said. GE Power & Water’s Distributed Power business said it will deliver 34 of its aeroderivative gas turbines, which are expected to begin generating power in May, as well as 12 heavy-duty gas turbines to 15 sites across Egypt.
Elliott to supply compressor trains for Gulf Coast LNG liquefaction plant

Elliott Group has been chosen for the manufacture of three compressor trains for Cameron LNG's new LNG Liquefaction export facility in Hackberry, Louisiana. The project includes three natural gas liquefaction trains with an approved export capacity of 12 million tpa. Elliott will supply three duplicate equipment trains with six Elliott centrifugal compressors for cryogenic, end flash gas service.
