MHI receives order for 1,600 MW power plant in Thailand

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has recently secured a full-turnkey order from Gulf JP NS Company (GNS) to construct a 1,600MW gas turbine combined-cycle power plant in Thailand. The power plant in Nong Saeng district, Saraburi Province, is being built based on the Thai government's electric power development plan.

The facility will include two 800MW power generation plant trains and will primarily consist of four M701F gas turbines, two steam turbines and six generators. The two power units are slated to begin operations in June and December 2014 respectively, and will be operated by GNS. Electricity generated at the plant will be supplied to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand for 25 years.
