GE’s Power Conversion business gets new President & CEO

GE recently appointed Azeez Mohammed as President & CEO of GE Energy Connections’ Power Conversion business, effective July 11, 2016.

Azeez was previously President and CEO of GE’s Power Services business for Middle East and Africa. He was instrumental in leading GE’s digital transformation, by launching innovative customer solutions in the power and LNG sectors. Today, he brings that experience to the Power Conversion business where he will lead the company to reinforce its digital capacity while bringing a new focus on research and development, increasing the company’s ability to provide innovative solutions to customers.

A leader with a technological background, Azeez has held positions in engineering, finance and business management in GE Power and GE Corporate worldwide. He has also held leadership positions in Latin America and the Saudi & Gulf regions. He holds master and doctorate degrees from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, all in Mechanical Engineering.
