Braden will provide air intake filter houses for Mitsubishi's South Korea project.

Braden Manufacturing LLC., a subsidiary of Global Power Equipment Inc., today announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide gas turbine auxiliary equipment to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for its new "J-series" gas turbine. Under the contract, Braden will design and manufacture the world's largest diverter damper of its kind. In addition, Braden will also provide the air intake filter houses for the MHI project located in South Korea. The equipment is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2012.

Quality systems for gas turbines

Braden’s filtration products enclosed in filter houses as turn-key end products provide quality engineered systems for new or existing gas turbines. The company designs filter houses and filtration systems for applications based on site specific requirement and OEM specifications. It has produced cost effective systems including static filtration (pre-filters to high efficiency final filters), pulse filtration (self-cleaning), and variety of auxiliary equipment (heating/cooling systems) that clean and condition the air at low pressure drop for optimum power output while protecting the compressor from damages.

Braden also has experience in design and manufacture of diverters for combined-cycle gas turbine power plants, where extreme and sudden thermal changes necessitate thorough design foresight, and for desulfurization (FGD) applications for improved flow distribution.
