Toshiba ships first supercritical steam turbine made in India

Toshiba has shipped its first 800-MW supercritical steam turbine generator made in India at its Chennai facility. The unit is intended for Kudgi Super-critical Thermal Power Station in Karnataka state.  The generation system to be manufactured and assembled with locally procured parts and systems, and tested in India.

Toshiba JSW established its first manufacturing plant spread across 400,000 square meters with a current production capacity of 3,000 MW, that can be scaled up to 6000 MW. This is Toshiba's first and the only overseas thermal power plant equipment manufacturing facility outside of Japan.
