Greetings. This is Online Editor Tim Lukac reporting the Turbomachinery International News Blast for the week of January 7th, 2023.

Snam and Baker Hughes completed a series of hydrogen fuel to power gas turbine tests at a natural gas compression station in Florence. They aim to verify the metallurgical reaction and required maintenance of turbines using hydrogen.

GE utilized catalytic reduction tech at a Department of Water Resources plant in California to reduce NOX and Carbon emissions by over 90%. Four TM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines generating up to 136 MW had the selective catalytic reduction system installed.

Mitsubishi is refurbishing an oil & gas fired plant in Iraq. The Hartha Thermal Power Station’s gas and oil-fired boilers along with steam turbines will be replaced. The job is expected to restore the plant to its original 200 MW output.
