Greetings. This is Online Editor Tim Lukac reporting the Turbomachinery International News Blast for the week of January 16th, 2023.
The floating LNG terminal ship Exemplar is now docked off the coast of Inkoo, Finland. The vessel is being deployed to reduce reliance on Russian gas imports. LNG is vaporized on the ship, after which it’s transferred to state-owned gas operator Gasgrid’s network.
Baker Hughes is providing CO2 compression equipment to the Petronas Kasawari offshore carbon capture and sequestration project in Sarawak, Malaysia. They will deliver two trains of low-pressure booster compressors for CO2 removal, and two trains for reinjection into storage. PGT25+ and PGT25 gas turbines with dry low emission tech are fitted onto the trains.
Emerson is releasing an improved pressure relief valve (PRV). The Crosby-J pressure relief valve features two new technologies. First is a balanced diaphragm. As the name suggests, it provides balanced operation without the use of bellows. Second is bellows leak detection, enabling remote detection of bellows ruptures in PRVs.
