Power Machines develops new flow path for GTE-65.1 gas turbine

Published on:

Power Machines, a Russian energy systems machine-building company, wants to build their turbines domestically. Now the company is moving closer after it completed the first stage of development work on the design of a new flow path for the GTE-65.1 gas turbine.

The design is essentially the modernization of the turbine flow path. New gas-dynamic surfaces of the working and guide blades of the GT-65.1 turbine have been developed. The company expects that changing the blade profiles will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the turbine flow path to achieve the target parameters of the GTE-65.1 project.

At the next stage, expected by the end of 2020, is a project for a new blade cooling system. In 2021, the company plans to release a pilot batch of first-stage blades for testing. The blades will be manufactured using additive technologies, which is a new for Power Machines.
