Vestas has confirmed a 55 MW order from RENOVA for the Reihoku Amakusa Onshore Wind project located in Kumamoto prefecture, Japan. The deal entails the supply of 13 units of Vestas' V117-4.2 MW wind turbines to the site. Engineered with a high-tower solution boasting a hub height of 112 meters, these turbines are designed to harness wind resources that offer greater consistency and are found at higher altitudes.

In addition to the turbines, the contract encompasses a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. This provision aims to provide the wind farm's optimal performance throughout its operational lifespan.

“We are delighted to once again partner with RENOVA,” said Purvin Patel, President of Vestas Asia Pacific, “This will be our first collaboration in Japan, building upon the success of our previous three projects in Vietnam."
