PW Power Systems, Inc. (PWPS), a group company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., announced today that its one hundredth MOBILEPAC(R) unit is complete and will be delivered to Sonelgaz, the state-owned utility in charge of electricity and natural gasdistribution in Algeria.
The MOBILEPAC unit, a self-contained gas turbine generator, is powered by an FT8(R) engine supplied by Pratt & Whitney. One FT8 MOBILEPAC unit generates a nominal 25 megawatts of electricity and operates on natural gas or liquid fuel. The complete power package can be quickly shipped by land, air, or sea to anywhere in the world, giving customers the flexibility to rapidly deploy to satisfy short- to mid-term requirements and mitigate emergency situations.
