30 MW battery supports gas turbine in Australia

Kokam has delivered a 30MW/11.4 MWh battery storage system for a 178 MW simple cycle power plant in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The hybrid system supports a microgrid powering iron ore mines by Alinta Energy.
Kokam's UHP NMC battery technology boasts of a maximum discharge rate of 10C, has a energy density of 3.77 MWh energy storage in a 40 ft container. The batteries can last upto 10,000 cycles.
