Howden’s new ExVel Composite turbo fan features an impeller engineered and produced from carbon fiber composite, helpful in glass manufacturing. Glass manufacturers can discover the benefits of the new design over traditional stainless steel. It’s not susceptible to cyclic fatigue failure like metallic impellers, which reduces unplanned downtime. Weight is much less than stainless steel, which makes the turbofan consume less energy and reduce load and wear to connected components like bearings and couplings.
