Rolls-Royce UltraFan Tech

Rolls-Royce a completed a test build for the UltraFan. The first test of the demonstrator is expected to take place early next year and will be operated using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel. The UltraFan demonstrator has a diameter of 140” and offers 25% more fuel efficiency compared with the first generation of Trent engine. Testbed 80, the world’s largest, was designed and built especially to accommodate the size and technical complexity of the UltraFan demonstrator.
