GE Gas Power is renting eight trailer-mounted TM2500 mobile aeroderivative gas turbine units to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) for winter demand. Once all electrical components are in place, the TM2500 can generate up to 34 MW. The reserve power plant will be located at GE’s Manufacturing Center in Birr and deliver 250 MW to the grid starting February 2023. GE will handle installation, operation, and maintenance of the plant through 2026.
