The pre-commissioned skid contains three C65 microturbines fueled by pipeline-derived natural gas, accommodating additional load growth and same-day connection/startup.
E-Finity Distributed Generation, a Capstone Green Energy distributor, obtained a follow-on order from a leading natural gas producer operating in the Marcellus Shale: a pre-commissioned skid with three C65 microturbines and E-Finity’s m-TIM controller, scheduled for commissioning in October 2025. The microturbines were selected to deliver reliable power, low emissions, and consistent performance in remote, off-grid locations where continuous power is vital.
“Our focus on delivering customer value through clean and reliable power solutions continues to resonate with leaders in the natural gas sector,” said Vince Canino, President and CEO of Capstone Green Energy. “This follow-on order is a clear signal that our products and service model are making a difference where it counts—in the field—where reliability is not optional. We are proud to support our partners in driving operational success.”
Capstone’s pre-commissioned skid can be connected and fired up in the same day, eliminating on-site commissioning requirements. The design is also pre-engineered for scalability, allowing an additional C65 microturbine to be installed for future load growth. It will be powered by on-site, pipeline-derived natural gas which enables simple integration with the customer’s existing infrastructure.
“This order underscores the strength of our technology and service in meeting the demanding needs of natural gas producers,” said Jeff Beiter, Founder and CEO of E-Finity Distributed Generation. “The fully pre-commissioned skid enables rapid deployment with no on-site commissioning, a major advantage for operations in remote areas. Our customer’s commitment to expanding their fleet reflects the durability of Capstone microturbines and the continued faith in the E-Finity team.”

These microturbine systems feature low maintenance requirements, a low emissions profile, and the ability to generate clean and reliable power in challenging environments, with this project satisfying the need for on-site power solutions that meet air quality and operational resilience requirements. The order expands Capstone Green Energy’s total microturbine fleet to over 150 units.
In May 2025, the City of Janesville, WI, ordered two C65 microturbines, one C200S microturbine, and a Vergent controller from Vergent Power, a regional distributor of Capstone Green Energy. With Capstone’s microturbines currently installed, Janesville placed a follow-up order to improve its wastewater treatment facility and increase on-site generation capacity to 460 kW.
Capstone’s turbines will be installed in a combined heat-and-power configuration, burning digester gas as fuel and generating electricity for Janesville’s wastewater plant. On a technical level, the turbines will capture and convert waste heat into usable thermal energy for anaerobic digesters. The cyclical, environmentally sustainable approach will minimize greenhouse gas emissions and lower operating expenses.
The plant is presently equipped with two C65 microturbines installed in 2010, a C200 microturbine commissioned in November 2024, and two C65 microturbines commissioned in April 2025. Janesville leveraged financial incentives to expand its Capstone microturbine system, such as the federal Investment Tax Credit and the Department of Energy’s Industrial Training and Assessment Centers grant, which supported 90% of project costs.
And in August, Capstone Green Energy purchased Cal Microturbine and its western distribution territory, which includes California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Now, Capstone West Territory will execute the sales, aftermarket support, and service for regional customers, while ensuring a smooth transition under direct ownership.
