The company will integrate EthosEnergy’s TurboCare team, technical data, and intellectual property to support a broad range of OEM technologies.

Rotating Machinery Services (RMS) recently acquired EthosEnergy’s TurboCare Steam and Compression brand—a steam turbine and centrifugal compressor business with four service and manufacturing facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Absorbing over 160 experienced employees, RMS’s acquisition expands its service capabilities and geographic coverage.

“This transaction reflects our commitment to ensuring customers of our steam turbine and compressor business continue to receive world-class support,” said Ana Amicarella, EthosEnergy CEO. “RMS is the ideal partner to carry forward the TurboCare legacy, combining deep technical expertise with a customer-first approach. We believe they are best positioned to build on this heritage, and we look forward to a continued partnership that delivers exceptional value to the industry.”

The primary additions include the Chicopee and Sterling blade, seal, diaphragm manufacturing, and steam turbine engineering facilities in Massachusetts, serving as RMS’s dedicated center for the legacy support of GE Fitchburg steam turbines. The acquisition integrates a highly experienced engineering team and independent, specialized design data with RMS’s engineering solutions, spare parts, and rotor repair services for GE Fitchburg and other OEM-made steam turbines.

“This acquisition is a major milestone for RMS,” said John Bartos, CEO of RMS. “By welcoming the ‘TurboCare’ team and expanding upon our collective aftermarket support tradition, we are preserving valuable independent engineering and technical expertise while enhancing the speed and innovation our customers have come to expect.”

Four specialized facilities joined the RMS network, including:

  • Perris, CA: It’s a full-service repair and overhaul center for steam turbines and centrifugal compressors serving the western United States. The facility includes complete disassembly, machining, welding, balancing, and field service capabilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the entirety of South America.
  • Chicopee, MA: Dedicated center for steam turbine support, specializing in airfoils, packing, and diaphragm manufacture for multiple OEM steam equipment. The site combines independently developed design archives with modern analytical tools to provide engineering solutions and component manufacturing for a wide variety of OEM steam turbines.
  • Worcester, United Kingdom: A qualified European service hub focused on global steam turbine blade repair, component reconditioning, rotor balancing, and field/outage support for customers across the U.K. and continental Europe.
  • Enschede, The Netherlands: Center of excellence for centrifugal compressor aftermarket engineering, upgrades, repairs, and field services for customers in the petrochemical and oil & gas industries in Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

The joining team includes engineers, machinists, welders, mechanics, and field service professionals, all of which maintain expertise in GE Fitchburg and other product lines.

The combined organization now offers customers in refining, petrochemical, steel, and power generation industries an expanded range of services, including:

  • Steam turbine and compressor repair, overhaul, and performance upgrades
  • Advanced rotordynamic, aerodynamic, and structural analysis
  • Component design and modernization for legacy equipment
  • Precision machining, metrology, and blading manufacturing
  • Coordinated global field service and outage support

RMS Bay Area

In early October 2025, RMS officially opened an over 150,000-square-foot facility in Pasadena, TX, dubbed RMS Bay Area Blvd (BAB), within the Houston Ship Channel’s industrial corridor. The location grants access to large-scale energy, petrochemical, and industrial customers, enabling RMS to serve the Gulf Coast with quicker response times and increased capacity.

It serves as a hub for end-to-end turbomachinery solutions like blade manufacturing, engineering, and field services. Also, BAB is the new headquarters of RMS’s Global Technology Services, hosting advanced laser scanning, virtual assembly, metrology, and other technology-driven capabilities in one location. Through this investment, RMS improves its position in the turbomachinery aftermarket and expands access for Houston-area customers.
