In conjunction with dual-inlet, high-flow technology, the P650 DF allows for easy maintenance through its split gear case, split bearing, seal, and detachable airend designs.

FS-Elliott recently unveiled a U.S.-engineered and manufactured dual-inlet, double-flow centrifugal air compressor—dubbed the Polaris P650 DF—applicable to industries such as biofermentation, pneumatic conveying, petrochemical and refinery operations, chemical production, water treatment, and industrial gas. For high-flow, low-pressure operations, the P650 DF demonstrates high capacity within a compact, oil-free, and cost-effective design.

“Introducing a true dual-flow centrifugal compressor in this footprint is a breakthrough for our customers,” said Justin Johnson, Director of Product Management, FS-Elliott. “With the P650 DF, we’ve taken decades of aerodynamic expertise and the same API-inspired design that defines our PAP Plus series to deliver a compact, high-capacity solution. This compressor sets a benchmark for performance and efficiency.”

Polaris P650 DF Compressor Specs

The P650 DF is an alternative to large-frame compressors that delivers high volumes of ISO 8573-1 Class 0 oil-free compressed air. It features parallel dual inlets connected to a unified discharge header, which allows up to 20,000 CFM flow rates at 30–50 PSIG. FS-Elliott doubled the P650’s flow capacity while maintaining its physical footprint, which helps reduce capital expenditure, installation work, and operational difficulties.

In terms of maintenance, the P650 DF enables simplified access via a split gear case, split bearing and seal design, and completely detachable airend. These components help avoid major disassembly, while the proprietary Regulus R2000 control panel provides operators with tools to guarantee optimal uptime and efficiency, such as:

  • Touchscreen monitoring
  • Real-time energy optimization
  • Proactive maintenance notifications

The new model is supported by FS-Elliott’s global network of trained channel partners, who deliver genuine spare parts, service, and 24/7 availability.

FS-Elliott New Products

In January 2025, FS-Elliott expanded and launched a new line of FSE-TurboCool lubricants and additives to improve centrifugal compressor performance and lubrication and lengthen machinery lifespan. In addition to enhanced performance and extended lifespan, the FSE-TurboCool formulations help operators reduce unscheduled compressor downtime.

R3000 Control Panel

In August 2024, FS-Elliott announced the launch of its new programmable logic controller for centrifugal compressor applications—the R3000 control panel. The configurable design enables reliability, energy efficiency, and advanced customization via advanced compressor diagnostics with onboard historical data tracking. Leveraging data-logging capability, users can quickly obtain factory-direct engineering assistance.

FS-Elliott also equipped the R3000 control panel with remote monitoring capabilities: an optional FS-Connect system offers a comprehensive data dashboard and customized reports to further enhance efficient, reliable operation. FS-Elliott Channel Partners will receive notifications when service is needed, which minimizes unnecessary or unscheduled downtime. The R3000 uses FS-Elliott’s Energy Advisor and Maintenance Notification system to ensure compressor operation at optimal efficiency and reliability.

Energy Advisor: Continuously monitors operational efficiency and enables improvement via automated, actionable suggestions.

Maintenance Notification: Tracks the usage of maintenance parts and alerts users when predictive maintenance (PdM) is required. As a byproduct, PdM alerts reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
