Doosan Škoda Power will supply a 42MW turbine generator for the Newhurst Energy Recovery Facility in Leicestershire, England, currently under development. The facility will treat up to 350,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste every year.
Delivery of the main components for the project is planned for November 2021. After the completion of the mechanical assembly (piping and wiring), engineers will perform individual tests, and steam is expected to be brought into the unit for the first time in October 2022. The entire facility is expected to begin its operational phase in spring of 2023.
