Gazprom recently commissioned a new CCGT-450 combined-cycle gas turbine unit at the Pravoberezhnaya combined heat and power plant (CHPP). This is the third large-scale project for building state-of-the-art combined-cycle gas turbine units implemented by Gazprom over the recent years in Saint Petersburg, after the commissioning of CCGT-450 at the Yuzhnaya CHPP and two CCGT-180s at the Pervomaiskaya CHPP.

Upon commissioning of the new CCGT unit, Pravoberezhnaya CHPP capacity rose to 630 MW and its installed heat capacity to 1,283 Gcal per hour. The plant supplies energy to the industrial facilities and the residential and municipal buildings of the Nevsky and Krasnogvardeisky districts of Saint Petersburg (population: about 700,000). The produced power is supplied to the Unified Power System of Russia.
