New Industrial Data Operations Solutions From Belden

Published on:

Belden introduces new tools in the Horizon Suite to meet the growing need for efficient, secure data extraction and integration from operational technology devices.

Networking and digitization solutions provider Belden has introduced its new Belden Horizon Data Operations (BHDO) and Belden Horizon Data Manager (BHDM), industrial data operations solutions. These additions come in response to the escalating volume of data generated by connected operational technology (OT) devices, driven by the increasing adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0. These solutions are designed to enable industrial enterprises to manage data complexity securely and effectively, utilizing data to enhance business decision-making.

BHDO and BHDM allow industrial organizations to derive actionable insights efficiently and securely from OT assets, spotlighting opportunities to refine production processes, boost operational efficiency, and augment uptime. BHDO handles the collection and analysis of OT data at the network edge, subsequently transmitting it to IT destinations for analysis and action, while BHDM oversees distributed BHDO deployments.

Among the key features of BHDO and BHDM are; support for over 250 OT protocols and straightforward integration with numerous IT system types, the use of digital twins and analytics tools for edge data collection, contextualization and analysis, and scalability to accommodate extensive or remote deployments via the BHDM software that manages multiple BHDO instances.

"Today's enterprises face an ever-increasing proliferation of connected devices, driving the need to capture and analyze high volumes of data at the edge and then transmit data to IT systems for additional contextualization and analysis," Jeremy M. Friedmar, Director of Product Management, Edge Solutions at Belden, commented. "BHDO streamlines edge OT data collection and IT systems integration through its pre-loaded connectors, integrations, and low-code programming, while BHDM manages distributed BHDO instances. Our BHDO and BHDM solutions are vendor agnostic and easy-to-use while providing robust data normalization to optimize edge data management."
