Siemens to supply industrial gas turbines to Canada

Published on:

Siemens will supply two SGT-300 industrial gas turbines for a gas processing plant in Alberta, Canada. This would be the first application of an SGT-300 turbine in Canada.

The gas processing plant will be built near the company’s existing dehydration and compression facility. When completed in 2020, the plant will provide 50 million more cubic feet per day of natural gas processing capacity and 30,000 barrels per day of condensate stabilization capacity.

The two SGT-300 industrial gas turbines will drive compressors at the facility.

The turbine package for the gas plant will feature a non-enclosed design, allowing the plant-wide fire detection and suppression system to ensure worker safety throughout the facility. It will also provide open access for maintenance and visual inspections.

The two SGT-300 units are expected to be delivered in late summer 2019, just 10 months after the initial order was placed. Commissioning is expected in autumn 2019.
