Alstom is now diversifying its industrial activities in Setubal by expanding the scope of the workshop to manufacture condensers and moisture separator reheaters to be used in the conventional island of nuclear power plants. Setubal's direct access to the sea makes it an ideal manufacturing location for this equipment.

The technical conditions of the factory are also being enhanced to manufacture the new equipment scheduled to begin from mid-2013, and it will be exported for Alstom's nuclear projects worldwide. The building work will commence in May 2012 and is expected to take a year to complete.
