The collaboration agreement will focus on implementing and launching combined-cycle power plant projects in Kazakhstan.
Ansaldo Energia and Samruk Energy, a Kazakh state electricity company, have signed an agreement to establish new collaborations, an exchange of technological skills, and a market for new power plant construction in Kazakhstan. The agreement was recently signed in Rome in the presence of Ansaldo CEO Fabrizio Fabbri and Samruk CEO Kairat Maksutov.
The agreement fits into the context of a current commitment between Italy and Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation and development in the power generation sector. The agreement additionally creates a frame of reference between Ansaldo Energia and Samruk to build new power plants in Kazakhstan. The primary objective of Samruk Energy is the creation of a highly efficient energy supply system to support the sustainable development of industry within the country.
The recently signed collaboration agreement will focus on the cooperative efforts to implement and launch new future combined-cycle power plant projects in Kazakhstan. Among these projects, the reconstruction of the Almaty CHPP-3 power plant is currently underway. In addition to power plant construction cooperation, Ansaldo Energia will exchange its technological expertise and offer training to local Kazakh specialists.
