Papers invited for symposium on lubricant condition monitoring industry

Applications are invited for the Symposium Highlighting Standard Guides and Practices that Support the Lubricant Condition Monitoring Industry, Dec. 7, 2020, at the JW Marriott Austin, in Texas, USA.

Sponsored by two groups covering in-service lubricant testing and condition monitoring services (D02.96) and turbine oils (D02.C0) within the ASTM International committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02), the symposium will be held in conjunction with the December standards development meetings of the committee.

The symposium will present new technologies and developments available in the industry and will highlight condition monitoring strategies pertinent to all sectors of the in-service lubricant analysis community, including service providers, lubricant and instrument manufacturers, and end-users.

Topics for this symposium include:

  • Grease cleanliness,
  • Using oil analysis data to create criteria and trends,
  • Proper oil sampling techniques,
  • Failure modes and effects,
  • Used diesel engine oil testing,
  • Wear particle classification,
  • Filtration best practices as it relates to condition monitoring,
  • Applications for oil analysis data, and more.

To participate in the symposium authors must submit a 250 to 300-word abstract using the Abstract Submittal Form by Feb. 28, 2020.
