Dora Partners Unveils 2026 Centrifugal and Reciprocating Compressor Report

Author(s)James Cook

Christean Kapp of Dora Partners joins Turbomachinery International to discuss the report’s new features: updated economics, OEM characteristics, mechanical compressor drivers, and much more.

In November 2025, Dora Partners established an official partnership with Turbomachinery International and introduced the Annual Centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressor Market Analysis & Forecast, 2025 Edition. It offered vast coverage of various compressor types across the oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial markets, while providing well-informed compressor forecasts into the near future. This time around, Dora Partners’ Christean Kapp returns to outline the updated, improved, and enhanced 2026 Compressor Report.

Per Kapp, the new report is just as informative as its previous iteration, but added features include brand new information on oil and gas economics, mechanical compressor drivers, key OEM characteristics, and an expanded customer landscape to more accurately reflect current market dynamics. Not only does the 2026 version contain additional data-centric insight and context, but Dora Partners also extended its forecasting numbers to 2035.

TURBO: Dora Partners’ 2026 Compressor Report contains quite a few updates and additional features; would you mind giving our audience a brief rundown?

Kapp: Although the markets have behaved broadly similar to what we expected, we did update individual winners and losers and looked into how certain OEMs behaved. We also wanted to add more context and information into the report. You can’t explore compressors without understanding the various compressor driver parts or options, and how they interact with compressors.

We’re doing a bit of general economics for the oil and gas industry and we’re also discussing OEM characteristics, customer buying behaviors, and outlining the different applicable factors. Also, we’ve extended the forecast to 2035 - this is a major update and you really want to have this [report].

TURBO: What was the motivation behind adding these 2026 updates and how does it add value to the report? Did the rapidly evolving geopolitical climate spur some of these changes?

Kapp: A lot of it’s been customer feedback – we’ve noticed this report has been bought by customers who aren’t compressor manufacturers. They needed to understand more background about how these compressor markets work, so we felt it essential to answer their questions in the updated report. This allows them to work with our data to garner a better understanding.
