Author(s)James Cook

The Turbomachinery News Network, for the week of December 8, 2025, covers news from Rolls-Royce, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Air Products, and John Crane.

Welcome to the 26th edition of the Turbomachinery News Network. I’m James Cook, associate editor at Turbomachinery International.

AVK and Rolls-Royce signed a long-term framework agreement that secures production capacity for mtu Series 4000 emergency power generators over a five-year period. Per the data center agreement: Rolls-Royce will supply mtu-brand gas engines, Landmark Power Holdings will integrate its FLEXPOWER PLUS carbon-capture technology, and AVK will deliver its microgrid experience via design, EPC, and maintenance work.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Worley, and Heidelberg Materials have entered the execution phase for the Padeswood Carbon Capture and Storage project in the United Kingdom. At Heidelberg Materials’ Padeswood plant, MHI will deploy its Advanced KM CDR Process to capture approximately 800,000 tons of CO2 per year from cement production operations—the first deployment of its kind in Europe.

Air Products and Yara International will soon finalize a partnership agreement to combine Air Products’ industrial gas capabilities and low-emission hydrogen with Yara’s globally situated ammonia production and distribution network. Once final agreements, project completions, and operational statuses are declared, Yara will obtain hydrogen and ammonia from the Louisiana Clean Energy Complex and the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project.

John Crane signed a multi-year Global Framework Agreement with a large-scale international energy company, establishing a partnership to improve equipment reliability, standardize performance across global operations, and solve critical roadblocks in seal management. Per the agreement, John Crane will deliver a wide range of sealing technologies and lifecycle services.
