“This supply agreement with BOTAŞ represents a strategic milestone for Woodside, given it is our first long-term LNG supply arrangement with the Turkish market,” said Mark Abbotsford, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Woodside. “It is yet another demonstration of the strength and flexibility of Woodside’s diversified portfolio and ability to deliver on our global ambitions. Woodside also appreciates the support shown by the Turkish and United States governments following the announcement of the HOA earlier this year.”
Per the signed SPA, LNG will be primarily supplied from Woodside’s under-construction Louisiana LNG project in the United States, in addition to other assets in the company’s broader portfolio. This milestone signing marks the successful conversion of a non-binding heads of agreement, finalized in September 2025, into a binding commitment.
A binding commitment bolsters the shared ambition of Woodside and BOTAŞ to deepen their collaboration across the LNG value chain. Also, the agreement strengthens the Turkish-U.S. relationship and establishes a route for Woodside to build a larger strategic relationship with BOTAŞ, supporting energy security and economic growth for Turkey and the United States.

“Louisiana LNG is a compelling investment, expected to deliver significant cash generation and create long-term shareholder value,” said Meg O’Neill, Woodside Energy CEO. “Securing this gas supply agreement is an important step for the project. Woodside has a long history of successful collaboration with bp. By drawing upon bp’s experience with MiQ certificates, we can access verifiably low methane intensity molecules for the Louisiana LNG project. This supports Woodside’s goals as a member in the UN Environment Program’s OGMP 2.0 initiative.”
Net Power Platform
In early March 2025,
Baker Hughes and Woodside will recruit additional development partners to modify the concept in accordance with the continuously evolving requirements of various captive power generation segments. This agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding signed in 2022, which planned to decarbonize the natural gas supply chain. Baker Hughes is the sole provider of small-scale technology for the Net Power platform.
