The acquired company allows Groome to deliver a comprehensive, turnkey specialty maintenance platform for customers operating critical natural gas infrastructure.

The Groome Industrial Services Group recently acquired Taylor’s Industrial Coatings (TIC) based in Lake Wales, FL, a 50-year-old AMPP QP1/SSPC-accredited specialty coatings firm. In addition to improving Groome’s current specialty coatings segment, the acquisition brings AMPP QP1/SPCC credentials to the platform level, over 90 specialists, HRSG-specific technical coatings expertise, and a southeast operating base.

TIC adds a complementary and strategic customer base focused on natural gas-fired power generation, expanding Groome’s reach across the power and utilities sector. Also, TIC’s serves a diversified set of industrial end markets, including mining, chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, agriculture, government, and manufacturing, broadening Groome’s overall industrial footprint.

“We’ve spent more than five decades building trust with the operators of natural gas turbine plants across the country,” said Jeff Bause, President & CEO, Groome Industrial Services Group. “Taylor’s has spent five decades building a reputation for AMPP-accredited coatings work with a track record of first‑time quality and zero rework. Bringing their specialized capability to Groome’s nationwide customer base is a natural extension of how we serve these plants and it gives our customers a credentialed coatings option from a team they already know and trust.”

TIC is Groome’s most recent acquisition, accelerating the company’s ability to deliver a comprehensive, turnkey specialty maintenance platform for customers operating critical natural gas infrastructure. It enables TIC to deploy the AMPP-accredited coatings solutions with specialized HRSG capabilities across Groome’s national network of combined-cycle and simple-cycle gas turbine plants.

  • AMPP QP1 / SSPC accreditation — the credentials power generation owners and insurers expect.
  • HRSG-specific coatings capability — engineered for the same assets KinetiClean services.
  • 90+ coatings specialists — significant platform-level depth added to Groome’s Specialty Coatings service line.
  • Florida-based footprint — adds density in the Southeast.
  • Expanded industry coverage — extends Groome’s reach further into natural gas-fired power generation, in addition to other end markets including mining, chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, agriculture, government, and manufacturing.

Groome and Taylor’s Industrial Coatings provide mission-critical services that support essential natural gas infrastructure at a pivotal moment for the industry. Surging power demand is requiring natural gas-fired plants to cycle more frequently than they were designed to handle, with global data center electricity use projected to more than double by 2030, according to the International Energy Agency. As operating intensity increases and accelerates wear on HRSG components, structural steel, and balance-of-plant surfaces, Groome and Taylor’s are positioned to support customers with integrated coatings solutions that protect critical assets and extend service life.
