Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor International Corporation (MCO-I) is launching its new Pearland manufacturing and service facility on Saturday, April 25, 2015. The facility features over 180,000 ft² of space designed to manufacture and service process machinery for the U.S. market, which has seen an increase in demand driven by expansion in shale gas and oil developments. The erection of this facility allows us to bring our advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities closer to our customers and contribute to the Houston area job market with numerous engineering and manufacturing positions.
Initially, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to produce and customize compressors at the facility, using components manufactured in Japan. In the long term, the company plans to also use the facility to handle material procurement and parts processing. The plant is expected to begin operations in the fall of this year.
The event, to be held at 14888 Kirby Dr., Houston, TX 77047, will kick off at 11:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony and community festival, and include a blessing ceremony and a facility tour. Gampa Bhat, President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor International, and Hiroaki Osaki, President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation will deliver speeches. At 12:00 p.m., a family fun festival will be organized, featuring musical entertainment, midway games, and a petting zoo.
